Music Therapy

Whether used on its own or combined with other therapies, music therapy can enhance the lives of older adults experiencing a variety of age-related physical, mental, and emotional changes.

As a board-certified Music Therapist, I offer music therapy sessions for older adults which involve group improvisation, singing, listening, and reminiscing about music.

While the objectives for sessions are tailored to the individual or group, goals include promoting social engagement, inspiring movement, facilitating speech and cognitive function, decreasing stress and anxiety, and helping to improve overall well being.

Given the many benefits of music therapy, it is no surprise that music therapy programs are growing in popularity in senior care facilities. Booking weekly or monthly sessions can be an affordable way to provide music therapy services at facilities without full-time music therapists.

For more information, or to schedule individual or group sessions, please contact me.
